Have you had problems with Edge pads hopping?

I won't mention my local store, but they steered me away from the Edge pads (labeld Presta). The person there that I usually deal with said he ahs tried them many times and has not been happy with them. He said they cut really quick and they like to hop alot. What is everyone elses thought on this problem. I use Megs pads now and I'm looking to get away from them because I'm not happy with them. I've used other pads before with no real problems, but I'm still looking. I don't really use the waffle pads so the question is pointed towards the orginal Edge 2K pads.

Hope you can help be decide.

I'm guessing that your local store salesman are using them incorrectly. I've been using Edge pads for just about 2 yrs and haven't had a problem yet. I don't know how fast it cuts in comparison to other pads, but I do know that I haven't ever had a problem with the pad hopping.

hOPPING is usually because of a damp or gunked up pad.
Keep the pad clean, and either
a) use a polish where you mist it then work it clean
b) use a polish that requires no misting and don't let it get wet

I would have to agree with the above that its probably because of to little or to much polish. I didnt care for the sizes of the edge pads but the thing I liked about them was that they are always perfectly centered. I think the person who labled them as "bad" might have had some user errors.

I have used both sizes and both wool and foam and even waffle.. I get no hop.. but i take my time and go slow. Maybe they are rushing it??

I'm looking to purchase the Edge kit as well. I have had that same problem with my meg's polishing pad and SSR. To much product although you don't notice right away builds up and becomes a problem like you describe. I've been holding off on buying the Edge kit. I wanted to find out every last detail and feedback about the pads. Like anything else out there not everyone is going to experience the same results for whatever reason. Long story short I'm going with the Edge kit. The problem is that's not going to be the only thing.
