Okay. So this wheel is off of a BMW 645ci.

Here is what I’ve done:

1)Removed

2)Sprayed with Megs All Wheel Cleaner- let dwell for 1min-1.5min

3)Scrubbed with various brushes and Megs Gold Class car wash

4)Rinsed with hose

5)Shot with Tarminator- let dwell for 30sec-1min

6)Rinsed with hose- scrubbed with Megs Gold Class Wash

7)Shot with 3m adhesive remover- let dwell for 1min- 1.5min

8)Rinsed with hose- scrubbed with Megs Gold Class Wash

9)Rubbed with Mineral spirits

10)Rinsed with hose- scrubbed with Megs Gold Class Wash

11)Shot with 3m adhesive remover- let dwell for 1min- 1.5min

12)Rinsed with hose- scrubbed with Megs Gold Class Wash

13)Shot with purple power, full strength- let dwell for 2min-2.5

14)Rinsed with hose- scrubbed with Megs Gold Class Wash

15)Attempted clay-bar with Megs Red Clay

16)Rinsed with hose- scrubbed with Megs Gold Class Wash

17)Attempted to scrape off with a plastic razor blade

18)Rinsed with hose- scrubbed with Megs Gold Class Wash

19)Threw towel, gave up. :angry:furious:

And here is what that resulted in..

Is there ANYTHING else I can do?

You can try crc brake cleaner too, just make sure you do a test spot of the wheel first to make sure it wont harm the finish.

Meg Wheel Brightener everyone should have some on reserve.

I tried megs all wheel.. Is it the same basic formula? The stuff doesn't even budge. I cant even chip it off with my finger nail.

I wonder if the wheel was repaired and cleared over?

Although it says wheel bright has a PH of 5.5 which seems quite imposblie with Ammonium Bifluoride which has a PH of 1

Yea I use a respirator eyepro, and gloves.

Like I said this was spray on wash off not an ounce of scrubbing

This was no scrubbing just a wash off with a green brush dipped in ONR

[quote name='Legacy99']I agree on Meg's WB or Brown Royal. Be careful with WB it's a strong acid.

Very impressive stuff. I’m gonna have to order me some ASAP.

I took the bimmer back today and they told me that the wheel was repaired while on the car and that the body shop shot it all with clear- without cleaning the barrels. :grrr:wow:

Disappointing.. But a small relief.

what about a steamer with a high pressure nozzle?

I don’t think that would break the clear coat thats sealing in that break dust and dirt. I’m pretty sure wet sanding and refinishing would be the only way to correct this issue. :2thumbs:

Oh well. Took it back today looking like this:

The dealer was more than happy. :)

why are you not agitating the cleaner??? why rinsing it off with a soap solution then agitating?

spray on cleaner, let sit, agitate cleaner, apply more cleaner, agitate/scrub, rinse off. Check the progress and repeat as necessary

i have used wheel brightener on a set of BMW wheels 4 times at 2:1 with varying dwell times...didnt budge the baked on stuff! cleaned them up about 90%, but I was pissed at the results! process was diablo once, barely removed anything. WB at 2:1, agitate, rinse, and repeat 4 times...I gave up
