Have any Flex users tried the LC purple wool pads?

In some situations I need a little more cut than SIP and LC Orange pad (currently my most aggressive combo).

I am thinking about trying the purple wool pads but I am curious to see what results people have had with the purple wool pad on a DA machine, particularly the Flex.

How would this combination compare to PG and an orange pad?

If SIP and an orange pad is not cutting enough, you should move up to a rotary. The Flex with the purple foam wool is ok, causes some swirls, but only cuts as much as the SIP/Orange pad that you already have, IMO. I love the purple wool with the Flex 3403 rotary though!

I actually spoke with LC yesterday regarding this same concern, for my Expedition. Ive got a couple on the way that Im going to try and see what I can come up with. I will be using a UDM however.

I will be heavily weighing the rotary purchase though.

Agree, purple wool, presta strata, and a rotary are musts if you're doing any deep corrections. Finishes off so beautifully too!

Step up your compound 3m Perfect it 3000 Rubbing compound with an orange pad is quite effective. If you need more aggressive step up to a rotary and wool pad.

I thought about the LC purple wool pad for my flex but I stuck with my standard SIP/Orange pad combo instead although for tougher corrections I would love to try 3M's stuff exept its a bit hard to find, where can I get some?

Is the purple wool that you are referring to the same one that Autogeek sells? I have the one from Autogeek and get good cutting ability with it combined with Optimum Compound.

Have you tried Menzerna PowerGLoss (PO S34A)? It will remove 1000 grit sanding.

Anything more than that, you're better off wetsanding, then use the SIP or less.

HTEC will remove 600 grit sanding marks and finishes real good too.

Have you actually tried and accomplished that(maybe on uncured paint)? I call BS on that claim based on my experience. don't get me wrong, I like HTEC but it seems like a medium polish to me.

I am not buying this grit talk, we had some serious problems removing 4000 grit with twisted wool pad and Menzerna powergloss @ 1800 rpm...

Let me guess, on a BMW or Mercedes Benz? I had the same issue. Paint was damn hard to correct/level.

Powergloss is my go-to when I have serious damage.

Of course I haven't tried it on 600 grit.

To call Extreme Cut a medium polish us like calling Z5 an avarage sealant.

Maybe you haven't used EC correctly.

In my experience it is without a doubt the strongest compound. Whenever everything else fails, EC delivers.

As far as the BS comment, you may want to take that up with the company.

PS: I'll take what ever you have I am running low.
