Is anyone here familiar with black, Lincoln paint? Is it hard or soft? Next weekend Im doing a Lincoln Blackwood, but the kicker is that it will be detailed specifically for a car show. So what would you use to remove swirls and give it the deepest, blackest shine? I have 3M, Megs, AIO, Wolfgang, VM, EX-P, NXT and many others. I have rotary, PC and metal orbital. Normally I wouldnt be so concerned, but considering this is a show detail Im a bit more concerned. BEsides Ive never touched a Blackwood before.

Also what would you use on the stainless side panels in the "bed"? I know if this turns out well it could lead to alot more business, which is good (even for a weekend warrior like me).

For the stainless, assuming it is in good shape, dress it with a light coating of lemon oil. Oh it works, trust me.

The Lincoln paint is not soft. For your last polishing pass b4 protecting, use your finest polish, slowly, with halogen lighting at a 90 degree angle to your eye...

The black firnish should be flawless b4 you apply your sealant.

Me? I use AIO/SG(2x) and a carnauba topper.

G'luck!

Thanks. Lemon oil, huh? Wouldnt that attract dust?

I think some sealants are to reflective on the blacks, I was leaning towards 3m P3MG, VM and S100 or SFP, AIO, Wolfgang and #16.
