I have a black bimmer to do with some minor scratches and minor blemishes..

I was going to use Poorboys's SSR2 , then 1, (pc with orange sonus pad, speed 5)

then should i go straight to Souveran ? If so how many coats ?

or can i go to z-pc, then z2 pro, then top with Souveran ?

thanks for reading and suggesting..

I think you ought to step down your pad a little when you go from the SSR2 to 1, to a polishing pad. If it was me, I would do either the Z or the Souveran, but not both (although there has been some talk here recently about topping Zaino).

so then go to a sonus orange for SSR2 , then sonus green for SSR1, then straight to Souveran..

i'm basically readying it for a lease return, so there's no reason to make it Zaino durable ,

I agree with Setec. I wouldn't use the orange pad at all unless you find the polishing pad/SSR2 combo not working for you, and then drop down again to a finishing pad with the SSR1. Keep in mind that you are working on black so the finer the finish, the better it will look.

Souveran by itself doesn't last long at all for protection, so unless this car is a garage queen, I wouldn't use it. Sure, you can top Zaino with it, but that's becoming a little redundant.

IMO, I'd do the Zaino route because of the durability it will give you, and if you absolutely *must have* the Souveran, then use it as a topper and not a sole protectant. Also, I am thinking that if you use Z-PC, you can use it in place of SSR1, but still do SSR2.

EDIT: Looks like we were typing at the same time. Since durability isn't an issue, then go straight to Souveran after SSR2 and 1, but I still recommend a less aggressive pad combo.

so i'll use my Sonus Green with SSR2,

Z-PC with Blue pad

then go with z2pro

if i run out of time, then i'll go with SSR1 blue pad and then Souveran..

That sounds a lot better. If you find that your green pad isn't cutting enough with the SSR2, then at that time, move up to the orange. The less aggressive the method the better.

acutally i'll do this:

Sonus Green with SSR2,

Clay with misting the car with spray n wipe

Sonus Blue pad Z-PC

then go with z2pro x 2 or more

i prefer to clay after my compound work as i've picked up little bits of dust and particles with my clay bar.. just my preference..

and I don't have use of a rotary yet, so prepping with my porter cable is so-so i fine.. sub optimal results as prepping the surface with a rotary.
