Has Meg's #80 Speed Glaze lost popularity?

#80 is good for some very mild polishing on cars with soft paint like MB or Honda but I prefer #83, works faster and better for me.

If I need 80 results, I get it with additional working time. I mean you can only work 80 until its "turned", then, well, job done. Opt Polish has some additinal working time, predictable in sun, and provides equal or better then results. I can get 80 results with Optimum, but not Optimum resuts with 80.

I still use it and like it. I find it easy to use and predictable. If I need to work a product longer, I go with #83 or (more and more often) pull out the rotary.

I'd say it's more fair to say that #83 is falling out of favor a little bit. It can be finicky, with very little room for error in time worked and product/area ratio, and it gums up pads pretty easily. This is a product that could use an update.

I never liked 80 to begin with. I would rather use SFP #82 (which I do). Even SSR1 is better IMO than 80. But like others said, Optimum is probably the new craze in polish.

As far as DACP 83, well, that is still one of my favorite polishes to use with the rotary (for heavier swirling). For the PC, I prefer SSR2.5.

I found Speed Glaze a great product when learning to use the PC, Aggressive enough to remove some stuff, and filled other defects - But this filling is why I stop using it most of all.

Only use it now on paint in great shape which needs a mild polish. Plus I havent used it much sine early summer due to Sun!

I really like #80 and have just bought a gallon of it. I find it really good as a final polish - it leaves a really good gloss IMO. SSR1 found its way into the bin for me because IMO it just can't do anything - it has not cut whatsoever so I tend to use RMG instead. #83 is great via rotary but a bit tricky with a PC, hence I use SSR2.5 instead (even though it does dust).

I prefer the Meg's products to Optimum as well (by PC at least) because the Optimum just takes far too long to break down IMO and doesn't give any better results.

Menzerna, sonus, optimum, poorboys, dinitrol, PPG, autoglym 01B and Clearkote mooses are what I prefer

Usually menz po85rd 3.01 (IP) and 85RD (FP) are what I use

I still use it quite a bit. IMO, it has no equal...polishes of equal cut do not leave as good a finish, nor work as well to remove marring.

It's quite safe to use M80 with rotary buffer especially for newbies as long as keeping the speed below 1000RPM. M83 has alot more cutting power compared to M80 and I will only use it with rotary buffer.

I have been using #80 for awhile now and get some very satisfactory results with it. I'll follow up with VM or RMG and then put on my LSP. If I'm in a hurry it finishes off nice enough to go straight to the LSP. I'm sure there are products that are equal to or better, but the local availability, the reasonable cost, the ease of use and the results have kept me satisfied. :D

I like it on vehicles I'm not trying to get absolutely perfect. The little bit of hiding/filling works well under carnaubas.

I still use #80 in addition to Optimum because #80 is just so goof proof. If I need just a touch more than a glaze, #80 works great and leaves and LSP ready finish.
