Has anyone used ZFX past 18 months...

I have a vial of ZFX that I purchased in August of 2003. I wasn't aware until recently that ZFX had a shorter shelf life than the rest of the Zaino line. Has anybody used ZFX older than 18 months?

According to the Zaino website, ZFX is best when used before it's 18 months. I emailed Sal Zaino, and he said "as long it's a liquid, it's ok."

My ZFX was probably a little over 2 years old when I used it last fall, and the Z2 I used with it held up longer than it ever had before.

ZFX will turn into a gel when it goes bad. As Sal mentioned, as long as it's still a liquid, you're OK. :up

I have ZFX from early '03. Last time I used it, it was fine. I have noticed, if you leave it in a cold area, it will gel. Leave it in a warmer climate and it goes back to liquid. As with all detaling products, it's generally advised to keep them in room temperature climates and avoid freezing.

My Zfx had turned to gel by the time I went to use it in the fall. I think it was almost two years old or so at that point. I just don't know when it solidified.

The temperature in the room where I keep my supplies never rises above 72 degrees, or falls below 66 and the ZFX gelled after less than a year. I explained this to Sal and he sent me a replacement free of cost. :xyxthumbs
