Has anyone used this?

I have a half mile of gravel to drive on everyday and no matter how slow I go the car gets a small, annoying layer dust if the wind is from the right direction....anyway I've seen this product called the car duster that has baked paraffin wax into 100% cotton strands to lift the dust. You just lightly dust the car with it...I was wondering if this product would work without putting swirls in my car?...has anyone ever used this?

thanks,

ryan

well, bottom line is whenever you're using a car duster it is hard to avoid not to get some swirls. you can lessen the swirls if you're not applying some pressure when dusting. But, if I were you, if its a heavy dust I would just wash it on weekends.

Just try it. Use it VERY lightly and shake it often. No pressure at all.

Honestly, you can do the same job, with a good MF and some Quick Detail Spray

Yeah . . . lots of mixed opinions, and that's because (IMO :D) there's no right answer. If you have a dark-colored car and soft paint, you may find that the California Car Duster and other products like it just aren't for you. On my silver WRX, I use the CCD regularly to remove loose dust before QDing, and find it to be a valuable tool. YMMV . . . it's all going to depend on your car color/paint hardness, the composition of dust in your area (pollen can be pretty evil no matter how you slice it), and how diligent you are when using the CCD.

So, the absolute, final answer? "Maybe yes, maybe no . . . it depends."
