Has anyone tried Rain-X new Bug & Tar Pre-Wash Gel and Protective Shield?

After hunting in stores for the last few weeks, I finally found these two products. They were hiding on the bottom shelf in the detailing product aisle of a local Wal-Mart.

I picked them up a couple days ago and had a chance to try the Gel when I washed my Z yesterday. I have to say it worked like a hot damn! I may have just found my new go-to bug remover!



I haven't had a chance to try the the protective shield yet though. And we are getting towards the end of the bug season here so it may not be of much use before long.



One thing I was wondering is what effect these products have our our wax/sealant protective layers.



Anyone else try these yet?

I've tried it once on one big bug splatter and it worked good. I am going to be trying it here in the near future also. Oh and love bug season is almost here in Louisiana so I'll let you know how it works. From one Z owner to another.

I've tried the bug wash. While I did like the stuff, one thing I noticed is that if I sprayed it on, then washed it off with my soapy wash, it would kill any and all suds while washing and when I put my mitt back in my bucket my suds quickly went bye-bye. I think it's important to spray it off with the hose really good before beginning your wash.
