Has anyone tested Zaino's "can't use ZFX after 12 hours once mixed" theory?

I was thinking, while I was trying wash out the small 1 ounce bottles after a Z-5 mixture.............If you really can't use leftover polish once its mixed with ZFX after 12 hours??

I can't get anything small inside the small bottles to completely clean them. There is always a residue left. Whats the difference between this residue and leaving the polish inside the bottle for future use? I'm wondering if its just a marketing gimmick.....mix to much and you waste it, therefore going through more polish.

Anyone tried using Z2 or Z5 the following day after the "12 hour rule"?

I've found that unless it's hardened to the put of being a jelly like constancy it is still usable. Most times I have found that the less I leave in the bottle the faster it hardens.

As Detailbarn alluded to, I seem to recall doing an experiment where I poured my leftover out into something (not wanting to have it harden in the bottle forever lol). It got kind of jelly-like after a day or two, but it was inconclusive as to whether that was ZFX-induced or whether it was simply drying up.

I've put the Z2/ZFX mixture in the refrigerator and still used it a couple of days later. I've only done this once (so this is not conclusive) but it seemed to work fine. I tried it after reading someone else had done this on Autopia. I'm sure if you left it out it would begin to dry up and not be very usable. Hope that helps.

With the old Z5 (non-pro) I found that Dawn and shaking completely cleaned them. Z2-Pro won't come out that way, I always have to scrunch paper towels down in there; other members have said that IPA will rinse it right out, but I haven't tried it since I haven't used my Z2-Pro in a while.

A few sprays of straight degreaser within a few hours of mixing works.

You can get more at US Plastics for under $1 each.

Are you talking about it drying up if left in a sealed container??

Yep.......That and an old toothbrush with some ACP will clean them up very nicely.......

Yes, if you didn't refrigerate the product it would "dry up", or harden/turn to jelly, if left in the bottle out in normal temperatures. I had no trouble extending the consistency for several days when placing the ZFX enabled Z2 (in it's mixing bottle) in the refrigerator. Keep in mind I didn't use the refrigerated product for a base coat on a new vehicle, I just ran out of time and wanted to use it to add another coat to my own car. It "seemed" to work fine.

I've left Z5/ZFX mixed and used it a day or so later - maybe 36 hours? and it seemed to work just like I'd just mixed it..

I've since turned into a Meguiars fan - -I- think I get just as good if not better results.

Don't you have anything better to do?

What an ironic question coming from you...there's got to be some thread you need to add your $.02 or gripe in your cantankerous fashion.

Hey, what would you guys have to do over at DClub if you couldn't make fun of Autopia and our members? Oh...is your board still down? I guess you don't have anything to do but come over here and snipe, then.
