Hard Water Spots

shopking68

too many cars....
I drove my 96 SS yesterday to work. they have sprinklers that go off at 7am and sometime in the evening, it was 108* here yesterday so my car sat outside and baked all day and the owner of my company thought it would be a good idea to water at 4pm, so my car got wet and the water dried really hard.

I was very upset when I got out to my car, I went straight to the car wash and washed it real good and got it home in my shop and it still looks the same.

The water spots are the worst on the trunk and top of the car and not so bad along the sides. Just curious as to what I should use to get these off my baby, thanks alot

Vinegar and Water. Klasse AIO (or strong cleaner equivalent). Polish (light abrasive). Clay.

Those were the only ones I could think of... Try some of them.

I would start this with clay to see how that dose sounds like they are new on the car and you have a shot at this...if you are not familiar with clay you can buy a kit at any decent auto parts store...it comes with the lube that is required...just follow the directions on the box....A chemical based cleaner polish like Klasse as suggested will work on what is left over, if Klasse is not available in your area over the counter then any polish / cleaner combo will do the same...read the label.....The vinegar and water will also work at the wash stage....mix in a small bucket WHITE wine vinegar with water 50/50 with a sponge apply to a wet car and let soak for a minute or two do not let dry on the car...then wash off with soapy water and rinse.....Truthfully I think that the clay and polish will take it off.

+1 on the vinegar bath. If that doesn't work Poorboys' Professional Polish if that doesn't work Poorboy's 1.0.

Well I tried all the above and no luck, the trunk is still in bad shape, and I guess I will have to wait til my PC gets here this week to tackle it more, very frustrating, but I am sure I will get it lookin fresh again :)
