My poor car get driven daily. I would love to baby but such is life.

Anywho. A month or so ago (+/- a few) I did a slight correction on it. Finished it all with Dodo Juice Purple Haze.

The problem is, is that it could rain on the cars way to work in the morning, and bake all after noon. Then it get terrible water spots.

How can I fight against this, and or clear it up with out doing something major.

BTW, Chemical Guys Water Spot Remover..............not so much. Sigh.

If your daily driver sits outside, you need a durable, long-lasting wax like Collinite 476S/885 or Finish-Kare's 1000P Synthetic wax. You (or a pro detailer you trust) may need to do a full correction to remove the water spots/stains and then apply the LSPs mentioned above. If the rain still leaves nasty stains, man , you live in one polluted area. I would be sarcastic if I said "consider moving". By the way, how much "correction" did the CG's Water Spot Remover make?

I have a black car and water spots are my mortal enemy. I agree that FK 1000P does a nice job of protecting against them, but really nothing will keep them all away. Especially in the scenario you describe where you get a rain and then the sun comes out.

I just try to wash the car as much as I can (bi-weekly if possible or more) so the spots don't have as long to etch. Then, twice a year I clean the paint with either Klasse AIO and/or a polish. That will get rid of 99% of the spots. Clay will also help with some of them.

Nah the area i live in is pretty country....kind of.

The it in the Lasalle, Peru, area of Illinois.

The CG was not a good buy. Ill just say that. It seemed to work on my Dad'd windows of his house (test panel lol) but on the car it didnt work on some nasty ones on the windshield. Even using it with 00 steel wool. But Maybe that was just there too long.

I did use it on my hood where some water spots are and it didnt work. Maybe I didnt leave it on long enough or not (but i didnt want to risk it being on there too long)

Ill check that stuff out.

I would like to wash my car all the time, as often as you say, but I would be getting nagged all the time. But it would be hard for me to get it before the rain etches itself into the paint/wax but you know.

Just I think in the beginning of june it was, i did my first "correction". It removed ALL prior water spots, so it looked nice for a while. I just dont want to constantly do it all the time you know?

Woud this sealent be really good for winters? Salty roads? What would be good for that?

FK1000P is a very good winter sealant. Two coats works best. A lot of people use Collinite 845 as a winter sealant and it is also very good. In my experience, it's also easier to use.

I wish there was some magic sealant or wax that would protect against stubborn spots, but it seems like there isn't. There are just some that are better than others. With Collinite or FK1000P, I find that spots will still be there if I let them sit long enough, but 99 percent will come out with a paint cleaner like Klasse.

I know what you mean, it's frustrating to have the spots there. But in areas where we have acid rain, it's kind of a fact of life. I'm trying out Gtechniq C2 now to see if it does a better job against spotting. It seems like it's a constant battle.

Water spots are my nemesis. I drive my car, sunshine or rain. I wash my car weekly but that is often not enough to prevent the water spots from etching the paint. I have yet to find a protectant (and I have tried several) that protects the paint against spotting. I polished my car in mid-May. Last Saturday I had to polish the hood to remove spots. It was protected with one coat of BF Wet Diamond and two coats of BF Midnight Sun. Very frustrating!

Have you tried Flitz Metal/Plastic Polish on the exterior portion of your windows to remove the water spotting? It's worth a try and if nothing more you'll have a good metal polish in your detailing arsonal (very good for stainless steel).

What exactly is the name of the FK1000P. They have that over at autogeek now yes?

Also. When trying the water spot remover on my windshield i even scrubbed with steel wool, which did not work either.

I re did the trunk this weekend.

im going to look into getting that FK and BFWD as well

If you have water spotting issues, skip the sealants. Nothing beats a real carnauba as far as water spot protection. #16 or 845IW are top contenders.
