Hard to wax areas

:buffing: Detailing my truck takes awhile to do and I enjoy seeing the results. However the rough part of this process is waxing the hard to reach areas such as the door hing areas, the painted grill area, etc. How do you guys handle it? I use S100 products. Any thoughts? :xyxthumbs :bolt

Patience is the only solution that i know of. Also, playing "Eye of the Tiger" while jogging in place is a good way to get motivated. :D

I use various swabs. Get some with flexible plastic sticks- these are great for reaching behind hinges/latches without getting product on the wrong surfaces.

For grills, I use an old wooden clothespin, and a wooden dowel for the really tight spots. The clothespin is cut in half and then shaved down a bit to make it thinner than it was originally. The dowel has some foam rubber taped on its one end for a cushioned handle and I've shaped its working end to be thin and flat, almost like a half-round screwdriver tip if that makes any sense.

I use my fingers...... Kinda weird, I know.

Yeah, but you'll still need something to get in the *really* tight spots, especially for polishing. There's maybe 1/4" of clearance at most between the hinges and the sheetmetal on a lot of our vehicles. Tough to get in there, but once it's smooth and waxed the dirt doesn't stick any more and it's easy to keep clean. Plus I've become downright legendary among the mechanics who work on my stuff ;)
