Is Harbor Freight a good source for a Makita 9227 rotary buffer. The price is right $159.99 + $5.95 handling and no shipping charge.

it depends if your willing to wait. I ordered it a couple of months ago and kept wondering why my credit card wasn't being charged after two weeks. So I somehow found out that it was on backorder( I found out myself can't remember how though, no email no phone call nothing from harbor freight). I sent them an email asking what was up with my order and I got a one sentence reply "your order is on backorder until so and so day." Isent them another email to cancel my order because I was moving and might not live at the address by the time it got there and didn't appreciate that no one notified me that i was on backorder. I got an email two days later that they could'nt cancel because they sent out my order yesterday which was a whole week and a half before my backorder date. Anyways I ordered one from amazon for $175 with no shipping and a free pair of work gloves and they accidently sent two pairs and its been over two weeks since i sent the harbor freight one back and still no refund. Sorry for the rant but harbor freight customer service and shipping sucks but they are cheaper than most everyone else.

Agreed. Shipping times can be lengthy. I waited close to 3 weeks for my Dewalt 849 rotary but at $149, it was the best

price available.

Also, Porter Cable currently has a $25 mail in rebate on the 7428 when purchase from an authorized dealer.

The rebate is good until the end of April.

I just ordered one today.

Regards.
