Harbor Freight Foam Gun, will it work?

I was just browsing though HF's website and I came across this car wash nozzle that comes with a container for the soap. The container looks a little small but for $15 it might be worth a try. I'm curious if it would work or if anyone has tried one of these already. I work down the street from HF so I'm going to stop by there at lunch.

Oh, same one? I've heard about the one at Lowes but never realized it was the same one. Here I thought I discoverd gold.:bolt

After seing this, I just went and bought one 15 minutes ago...Lowes is only a few blocks away.

Same exact one.next to all the car waxes..

Came back and gave the car a hosedown. For $10, its not bad. Filled up the container with Meguiars Gold Class...it seemed to go through it quickly. Some of the settings are useless, like "flood" but others weren't so bad. Created some foam, but not a whole lot. I suppose with higher hose pressure, I might get more bubblies.

It's much better than the normal hose sprayer I use though. I suppose I don't need a soapy water bucket now, just a rinse bucket.

I don't know if it would stand up to a pressure washer, as I don't have any experience with those...but right now, Biglots has an el' cheapo electric pressure wahser on sale for $60...or a gas one for considerably more...

That might not be a bad deal. I've seen a few posters here use one of those Karcher pressure washers and the sale price is the same as the gilmore. You still need to buy the right attachement for the foam though.

I tried a similar foam gun from Walmart a few years ago for $5. It wasn't worth that. At least the one I used wasn't capable of a consist measuring. It worked by pushing a volume of water into the soap container which pushed a mixture out. The mixture get watered down as it's used up.

i had one one of those a long time ago and did not care for it (waste of money). those will spray soapy water at best (it's annoying how fast the soap goes too), and not even come close to a foam gun. if you can afford it, spend the money and get a real foam gun, it's worth every penny...
