Hanging Business Card

Just wondering if any of you guys have pinned your business card to one of those bulletin boards in various establishments. If so, did you get any appreciable amount of business from it?

I did, although it wasn't detailing related. I just put some general business cards out with my name, CPA designation, and that I could do tax work or other types of financial work for small business and such and have actually had a couple of people tell me that's where they found the info at. One place was a restaurant I frequent a lot and the other was at the credit union I bank at.

I've posted cards for my (Part-time) detailing business on a few local businesses around my hometown.

Not one call.

However, I've seen a nice car in a parking lot... for example a 3 year old Vette that needed some serious polishing... and put a card under the wiper...

Got several calls that way!

(It probably helped that my card has a picture of my Vette on it... haha!):lol2:

I have. Not a whole lot of calls, but did get some. I put my cards in a few lube shops (same one, different locations) and used to get a flood of calls. Guess it helped that I got to know all the works at every location as well as become friends with the owners.
They used to give my card to ever customer when they cashed out.

That's always the best.. I do this part time so I try to keep it to 2 details per week, but when it gets slow I have the lady who's been cutting my hair for the past 15 years hand out my cards at her salon... you can't even imagine how many MILFs come with the usual $50-60k cars and $400 cash in hand.

Like Texastb said...put your cards in areas where people are having their cars serviced or other work done on them...their mind set is on the car at that time..that's my take

Yeah I will definitely be doing that. I'll be leaving cards at the local Goodyear's where I worked for years. They just have to remember to get rid of them when the DM comes around. He hates that sort of thing, lol. :hmmm:
