Hand protection, esp for petroleum products?

Hey all, I've recently taken a bicycle apart to relube and clean everything, and bought some disposable rubber gloves, and thought they were fairly decent. Before when I detailed, I used to a whole wash, wax, and clean up (incl hand washing the towels) in one go, and if I do a couple cars in a row, my hands would get pretty chapped up (skin peeling etc).

Long story short, I tried using those gloves on some black magic tire shine stuff I have (nasty, btw), and some TW Ice synth polish, and noticed that my gloves broke up and bubbled up, obviously since petroleum has the tendency to screw up rubber things.

So I'm curious first, whether you detailers use any kind of protection for yourselves ( I got some cheapo dust masks too after polishing the trim on my bike and seeing dust all over my shorts, and freaked out), but especially for your hands and for petroleum related products. Will vinyl do the trick? How about in general, do you use any kind of protection at all?

After many years of not always using protection, insert joke, it is the first thing that I do when I arrive at the shop.

Disposable Nitrile gloves are what it use, along with various masks.

I also have heavy duty gloves for some solvents.

I use disposable nitrile gloves. I probably should also wear eye protection too (for when stuff splatters, you probably don't want to get it in your eye)
