Hand Glaze

How many of you use a hand glaze after compounding such as 3M Imperial, omega Glaze or Farecla Black Top

Secondly, what polish or sealant did you apply over it.

Finally, are there any polishes or sealants that will clash with a glaze.

recently I used imperial on a red car and then planned to use magnum top gear non silicone polish which is superb but it clashed and caused scuffing. I switched to dinitrol 7020 which is solvent free and it worked brilliantly and then I finished with Omikron Synthetic wax.

Lovely!

Well Today I began the paint and wheel protection on my father's WRX STI

I had a good look at the paint before and after washing with 20 ml of 3M Car wash shampoo which I like on new cars although I prefer water if possible

There was no fallout but the paint was still noisy (rough)

Although this car is only a few months old I decided to use a mild paint cleaner. I haven't got P21 S gloss enhancing cleanser or some other autopian quality ones yet (they are coming in a few weeks) so I went back to good old meguiars pro paint cleaner

Not a brilliant product compared to the ones above but It did an excellent job. I removed with ultra microfibre and followed with 3M IHG. After a short break I applied the first coat of Klasse SG

Following the Bill North method, I did the car pretty quickly and immediately after removal with another Ultra MF, the paint was super shiny and alot smoother and the gloss is very nice. I still have three coats to go plus two step wax even though it's not really necessary. the more protection the better I reckon.

This car has huge brembo brakes and the gold rims get hammered with dust so I got out the klearview blue glass cleaner and gave them a nice shine and followed with Poorboys EXP. Gave it over an hour and then removed. The gold wheels are now super shiny and very wet looking. I will be following with wolfgang and then might try a wax although must check the solvent level of some of waxes I have. Carnauba won't last long so it will probably be Omikron synthetic.

It's a state of the art, sweet smelling wax. Hopefully with some zonyl added on top of that, the brake dust will never re appear

Pics tomorrow and every week as I add more coats of protection

It's been two days since applying the poorboys and the car has been driven a fair bit and there's a tiny amount of dust on the right rear wheel but the rest are clear. Tuesday will be wolfgang and wax time for the wheels

OK here's a pic after two days, remember that before application of PB, brake dust would appear after only a 15 minute drive
