For some time now Ive always wanted to become a blacksmith. Not really possible, but I can at least watch some work. I found this amazing series of videos of a guy forging a knife. It shows the whole process in detail. If you're any kind of handyman im sure you will love this series of videos.

I am rite with you. I think that kind of work is amazing. Would love to try it some day.
I have worked in a metal fab shop about 15 yrs ago. Close, but not like this

I spent some time this morning watching these videos and what a treat watching the entire process! This gentleman is very talented and has learned the fine art of knife making.

The most difficult part for me is when he destroys those beautiful knives!!

That's really cool. There is an old farm in the middle of Plano they turned into a museum. We went one day for a big event and they had a blacksmith. He did nothing like the guy in the video but it was really neat watching him work. He made nails and hand tools like they would have in the 1800's. He offers a course but it was pricey.

Ya, I would have hated to been forced to destroy those amazing knifes. I love Damascus steel, the patterns they create are too cool. He has some other videos of another knife he made, just as cool to watch.
