Hammered Honda Ridgeline

I done this truck last summer, and could have sworn I done a write up on this one, but after searching for it, I realized that I hadn't. Its been posted on my Facebook page for a while now, so many of you have seen this one already.
I was contacted by a gentleman who was trying to sell this truck, and wasn't having any luck because of the terrible condition of the paint. He didn't elaborate on how this happened, but I have a pretty good idea after seeing the road he lives on (tree branches). After arriving and seeing the condition it was in, I knew it was going to be a long day. 100 degree temps and working in direct sunlight all day was also going to be playing a huge factor in this one, so I knew I was going to have to stick with Poorboys products on it.

I started with doing a simple engine wash, first spraying it down with Poorboys APC, then power washing. Once dry, it was dressed with Poorboys Bold n Brite.

I then moved on to the wash, using Car Brite's Cherry Bomb shampoo, the 2 bucket method, and power washing. Tires, fender wells, and lower panels were cleaned with Car Brite's Whamo whitewall cleaner, and the wheels were cleaned with Poorboys Spray and Rinse.

Once it was clean, I realized that it was even worse than I had thought. Swirls and tree branch scratches from bumper to bumper, RIDS everywhere, marring from improper washing techniques, etc.

I was afraid I was going to have to wetsand some of the deeper stuff out, but the paint on this truck was soft and fairly forgiving. I was able to use Poorboys Master Cut with an orange CCS pad on the GG6 to correct around 90% of the damage. I followed that up with Poorboys Pro Polish with a white pad, then Black Hole with a grey pad. Once the polishing was finished up, I gave it a coat of EX-P and dressed the tires and trim with Bold n Brite. Most importantly, the client was blown away. He called me a few days later, and told me that the first guy to come look at the truck went ahead and bought it.

Total time on this one was 9 hours, including the interior which I didn't take pics of.
Thanks for looking

Love hearing stories like this. No doubt you were the reason he was able to sell it so quickly. Amazing job.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty proud of this one, especially for the time frame I had to with. Just goes to show how good Poorboys stuff actually performs in the blazing sun.

Who could resist buying it after you did your magic? Magnificent! Those temps and the blazing sun was all I ever worked in while detailing so I know how badly it saps you of strength. That's one of the reasons I don't do it any more :D.

Thank you guys. Yes, working in heat like that is one of the biggest obstacles for doing mobile work. I would rather work in the cold temperatures than hot. One day, I'll have a nice air conditioned shop. A guy can dream anyway, right?

Thanks man. It was one of those that liked to scratch just from wipe downs. IPA wipedowns were particularly tough on it.
