Hair dryer and canned air to remove dents???

I came across this video today. Have any of you heard of this before? I'm almost willing to give something like this a shot on the old beater my kids are driving, but it only has smaller dings and I'm not sure if this is as effective on that sort of thing. Not to mentioned I'm still nervous what it does to the paint.

I believe this has been posted here before but not sure - I think a PDR said you could probably get that dent out by just pushing from the inside. A couple of my friends tried the compressed air + hair dryer and it did not work.



It'd be nice if it did.

It works on the same principle as heating up the surface with a hair dryer and then putting dry ice against it. I don't know how effective it would be with canned air, but you could give it a try. I would imagine that real PDR tools or even a Ding King would be more effective, but if you have a hair dryer and canned air handy, then go for it. Scientifically the process is sound. The tools you use don't matter when you are dealing with hot and cold. A heat gun is more effective than a hair dryer, but whatever works.
