Around midnight this morning we had small twister hit here and my folks place. People 4 miles away also got hit, but havnt went to look over there. Damage here was trees and limbs along withshingles on the house and another building. Also some damage from metgal feed tank being blown into my 1988 pickup that also has combine damage from last fall, and lots of rust.
Folks lost half the roof on 48x48 foot wood construction barn that was build in the 20's or 30's. Cant see where it is repairable as would probably cost $15k just for half the roof and other parts of the barn are weak now. The roof steel was wrapped around the power pole that has the transformer on it. Debri flew over the tractor that was btween the barn and the light pole. Other roof parts were scattered 3/4 mile. Lots on trees down too.
One Des Moines meteorologist had it pegged at 260th and Pheasant Ave. There it blew down an old cotton wood tree and toppled a barn that had most of the boards missing, neighbors said it couldnt have collasped any better. It topped trees at least 2 more places before getting to das and 1 more after here, there could have been 2 that did the damage too. Everyone is fine, just very tired
assout: tonight after picking up stuff. 3 different neighbors came over and helped at dads and my brother came out from his job and helped pick up debri in the feilds across the road. From twister blown soggy wet IOWA
