GTechniq C1 washing

I did a soapless car wash on my car, protected by C1. The front was full of dead bugs, the rest general dirt.

Started up the pressure washer and as I was spraying, noticed all the bugs just lifted off and were washed away. I did the same method on the rest of the car, dirt was gone. No need for soap! Dried it off, clean as a whistle.

Awesome, the less you touch your paint the better. Especially for those that have soft clears.

I'm hoping I will have a similar experience with Opti-Coat. As it is right now, I use DI water in my wash process and forced air for much of the drying. With the shedding characteristics I have seen others talk about with these products, I'm thinking (hoping) I may be able to integrate a truly touchless routine (like SuperBee) by adding a pressure washer (even if it can't replace my traditional washes completely). I'm not sure about C1 but considering Opti-Coat's apparent resistance to strong soap solutions/cleaners, I'm also thinking a pre-soak could help.

Please keep us informed regarding your experiences with C1. Are you going to continue to go the "touchless" approach for a while to see how it goes?

I use a leaf blower to dry :)

I will use the same method unless I see a need to change it. One of the reasons I wen't with C1. Didn't know about Opti-Guard at that time.

I'm curious as to why people use deionized water? Most of it is run through copper. Wouldn't this be worse than RO water? Forgive the newbishness of the question I am still learning and reading alot.

I'm not sure what you mean by DI water being run through copper. ....copper pipes from the tap? A system like the CRSpotless uses an ion exchange resin that helps produce demineralized water. The end result is water that doesn't spot. Personally, I haven't seen an RO system that was efficient enough/feasible (while being affordable) for vehicle washing.
