GSRstilez's 100,000 mile photoshoot

G35stilez

Ari Gold
Touched 100k earlier this week and pulled quickly off the road to snap a picture. It was a bitter-sweet moment in that the car is really in great shape, but its going to be harder to sell a car over that 100k psychological barrier.

I have a couple minor problems with her that I will have addressed next weekend, but nothing crazy.

The car is currently wearing:

-FK1 Pink Wax x 1 on paint
-FK1 #425 QD
-Bold 'N Bright on tires/wells
-Poorboy's Wheel Sealant on wheels x 2
-FK1 #425 QD and EO Water Based Dressing cut 50/50 under the hood

Thanks for looking .

I don't think I've ever seen a picture of your teg in anything but great shape. She may have 100K on the odometer, but she looks young and probably feels young at heart.

Hard to believe Sean that the Teg has 100k on the odometer. It looks better than factory fresh. :)

By the way, that wheel and fender shot just looks dripping wet.

I don't think my 2005 looks that good. The engine bay looks very clean!

Do you service your car at Acura? They have to be amazed when they see your car.

If you do sell it, it might be the first time someone contests the accuracy of the odometer, Because it's too high??? I wouldn't believe it unless I saw it with my own eyes. Car looks great!

your car looks great, regardless of the mileage. It is nice to see someone who takes pride in something (detailing).

I sold my teg at about 70,000 miles for that very reason. Once they get to a certian point it really affects the perceived value of the car. Good thing it's a Honda though. If this were any other car it wouldn't make any difference how clean it was because a clean car with a motor that is ready to fall apart isn't worth anything. lol

Those pictures are the exact reason that my show car will be red. Black and Blue are nice for reflections, but 'dripping wet' will win more points than 'reflection' any day of the week. I only wish Subaru offered a real red for the Legacy instead of their 'orangy red' that they have. I love my blue, but I would have loved 'arrest me' red even more.

If you have a GSR that looks that good with 100k you should have a very easy time selling it for whatever you ask. GSR's are in huge demand because of the factory LSD. The real joy in Honda/Acura ownership is seeing how long you can keep the things, 300k isnt uncommon in a Honda, and if the paint was so well kept that says something about the rest of the car.

Your local Acura mechanics must pee their pants when they see that thing. I took another look at the engine bay and am still dumbfounded.

Nope, I don't take it to Acura. The mechanic I use has been in the family for 15+ years. He enjoys working on my car, but hates how low it is :).

Thanks everyone.

Sean, you're gonna have a hard time convincing people that there is 100K on the car.
It looks great as always

Sean,

What have you used to clean your engine? What do you use to maintain it in such great condition?

-Richard

EDIT** Im and idiot and apparently cant read as it says what you use. Do you ever use a steam cleaner?

That car loks great for 100,000... it looks good for 50,000....hell, it looks better than most brand new cars. Great job maintaining it.

blackcarwoes: Every 2500-3000 miles, I change the oil with Mobil 1 Super Syn 5w-30, an OEM Acura Filter, and use a bottle of Chevron Techron before the next fillup to keep everything clean inside. I have done this religiously since I purchased her around 50k miles. Before that, the dealer did all the maintenance.

Thanks :).
