I got anxious and just wipred AIO on my tractor and then applied 2 coats of SG. How do I reestablish my AIO base wtihout ABC?
 
Just apply the AIO a few times and that will remove all the layers of SG you added leaving a good base.
 
AIO will remove all the layers of SG and any wax and everything that is on the surface. So the AIO will be your base. If you have a lot of stuff on your car, you might want to try 2 layers of AIO just to make sure you got everything off..
 
I just took my 03 Cobra out of storage and washed it for the first time. I only used one bucket of soap/water to wash the car. Used a microfiber mitt and a big blue drying towel.

Bammm! the swirl marks came back with a vengeance.

I know my first mistake was using one bucket to wash the whole car. lesson learned.


I wanted to see if anyone had any feedback on the Grit Guard?

Absolutely, it keeps the wash mitt off the bottom of the bucket where all the girt and dirt are. You also can rub your mitt back and forth along the guard to remove any dirt that was just removed from the car.
 
Not worth it in my opinion. While the two bucket system is an absolute, to me. the grit guard is just a gimmick. Who rinses off their wash mitt by rubbing it into the bottom of the water pail? Just give it a good rinse near the top and the grit falls to the bottom...just don't go deep when rinsing. My three year old black car is swirl and scratch fee.
 
IMHO, it is absolutely worth it. While washing with the 2BM and Grit Guard, you will notice just how much grit stays at the bottom of the bucket when you are all done. All it takes is a couple of rubs of your wash media against the grit guard, and that is it. For just $10, it is a very inexpensive tool to guard against swirls.
 
100% worth it in my opinion. The benefit is not scrubbing the wash mitt off but rather the sediment falling to the bottom of the bucket were the grit guard prevents it from re mixing with the water when you dunk your mitt back into the bucket.
 
I tried the idea where you stack 2 in your rinse bucket and none in the wash. You did not have to go deep in the rinse bucket to contact the grit guard.

Well, you can see as much grit is in the bottom of any wash pail, without a Grit Guard. Anyway, each to their own. It is only $10 so "smoke 'em if you got 'em"
