I want to buy some polish & wax for my PC....I have yet to try Griot's, they have 4 grades of polish, their own wax, thought I may give them a try.....been using Maq's....want do my new GM suv (white) and my 79 Corvette (original Beige paint, 15,000 miles etc)....any opinions on Griot's

You are going to pay $17.00 for each little bottle of 16oz polish? They have a #1 polish, #2 and a #3. That's over $50.00 for 48oz of polish PLUS you'll then spend another $40 to $50 for the wax. Now their stuff may be good (even though I have used the stuff, personally not impressed) and you may really like it and if money is no object here then I say go for it....BUT also consider this.... You can buy Menzerna Intensive Polish and Final Polish, these two will cover the range of the 3 Griot polishes for around $15 each...each being 32oz. So you can get 2 polishes that do the same as 3 for about $20 cheaper PLUS get an extra 16 ounces of product!!

Then buy some S100 paste wax for about $13.00 and you'll be a happy camper.

IMHO, they are WAY over priced.

I was underwhelmed by the polishes and the BOS liquid wax. I gave them away to a friend. He gave them away, too. I do like their Fast Shine and Car Wash. Nice people to deal with. My 2 cents.

Haven't tried their Best of Show Wax or Machine Polishes, but I think you can get polishes 1-3 for $30 some bucks if you buy them all together. I'd like to try them out some time because the Griot's products I have tried have been GREAT. The Speed Shine and Car Wash are my favorites and I won't be without either.

I'd like to try their BOS and carnauba waxes out of curiousity.

I stick with Menzerna and Z2Pro/Z5, though I'm waiting for my order of SwirlBusterPro to arrive. I thought the BoS liquid wasn't bad, decent longevity (for a garaged car), and better than average looks.

For my LSP, it's UPP or Glanz Wax -- those give me the results I like.

I do have gallons of Griot's Car Wash and Wheel Clenaer (which I dilute 1:1), those work very well, and I like the Undercarriage spray.

I have tried the polish #3 and with a polishing pad and it will do little more than remove micromarring its almost too fine the #4 I would have to think is useless. I do love griots poducts, their best in show wax is alright lots of fillers but it can be hard to remove, I would recomend others, but I do like their carnuba in the plastic jar a lot. Its great stuff easy on easy off decent durability and for less than $20 I would recomend it more than many of the OTC waxes.

Would you say the BoS or Carnauba in the plastic can does a better job of hiding (filling) swirls?

I too used the Machine Polishes 1-3 (I hear the #4 is #3 + wax) and I look back and think I should've dumped them long before I did. The #3 is handy to have around because it's so mild, but there are, IMO far better (easier to use, more effective) and less expensive alternatives out there. I haven't used my Griot's polishes in forever.

They do work better with more aggressive pads and machines though (#2 by Cyclo can do some work).

Haven't tried their paste but I was utterly unimpressed by BOS. Change that...I was *unfavorably* impressed by it, there are infinitely better choices IMO.

Really? Interesting... that's a shame. As much as I love Speed Shine and Car Wash I thought for sure BoS would be a great product as well. I really don't need any more carnaubas though. I've found my staples in Natty's Blue and Souveran. Throw Sig. Series II, S100 and Max Wax in there for good measure on those lighter colored cars and I'm in good shape.

Yeah, if you really want to try a liquid, I can think of better choices. BOS was a big disappointment. Heh heh, you have plenty of waxes as it is, and coming from *me* that's saying something ;)

Black- BoS def. has more fillers in it, it did a great job of hiding on my black truck, the durability is suspect at best I doubt it lasts a month, I saw a dramatic drop-off in beading and slickness after a week and a half, like you I had high hopes for this product, I recieved it as a promo freebie so its really no biggie to me, I still use it once and a while. The nuba though "I" liken to nattys blue, its a light purple/blue color wax with a great scent, not a lot of fillers at all but a great deep shine and pretty good durability, with tight beading. IMHO one of the best buys at Griots for the money, to me its suprisingly inexpensive comparitivley to the rest of the lineup.
