Hello. I am new to Autopia, new to forums in general, and even new to detailing.:baby: I am 36 and I live in Ohio. I recently bought a 2006 Mercedes CLS 500 and it has infused me with the desire to make it sparkle.



I am very much an amateur detailer, but learning. I have spent a lot of time on Detailedimage.com and what I do know about detailing pretty much comes from Todd Cooperider's articles.



I apologize in adavance for any faux pas, but as I said I am new to forums. I hope to learn and participate in some great discussions.
 
Welcome to the board! LOL @ your user name. My wife was born and raised in Stow OH and I have a brother in Chardon, so I know the Akron/Canton area fairly well. We live in Cincinnati now. Todd is a good man and has sent me some great customers. One thing that is important to keep in mind is what works on 1 car doesn't always work on another. The basics always seem to hold true though, wash-clay-wax = immaculant paint. Removing swirls and reducing their occurance is all in technique which as a hobbiest you will come to learn.

Welcome! Columbus Ohio here. I really like the styling of the CLS and may consider one when it is time to get rid of my E38... but I enjoy that car so much! Looking at your forum name, do you live in Kent, went to college there, both? My sister in law is a Kent grad.
 
Looks like my chosen name has thrown several of you. The name actually refers to Old Kent Bank, now long gone, and while no one works for Old Kent any more I am still in banking. I chose to stick with it because it has sort of become my on-line identity. I currently live in Cincinnati. Sorry to confuse anyone.



I actually purchased the CLS off-lease from a bank. It is pewter. I did post two pictures, but I must have done it wrong since people are asking for them. I did warn you that I was new to this. Perhaps I can try again...

Thank you. I love hearing that. After one of my 3 hour detailing sessions (OK thorough wash and some gloss enhancer) I had two different people stop me in the lot at Home Depot and tell me how beautiful my car was. I don't do it for them, but I really got a charge out of it.



Given that I briefly got stuck getting home tonight I am sure I would have been stuck for good in the rear wheel drive Mercedes.



Amberley Village. I checked out your site, and kind of figured you might be mobile, because I couldn't find an address. I'll stop back over and give it another look.
