I've been reading quite a lot about IPA and let me suggest Menzurna's Top Inspection or Wurth's Clean Solve as a replacement product. (Griots also makes a product of this type) These products are MADE to remove all the residue & oils left behind from polishing without the potential of harming your paint. While at the 1965 Mustang Garage Event @ AG, Mike P. used the Wurth product which was very caustic and required wearing nitrile gloves; whereas Menzurna's TI is like using a detail spray. I'm currently using the Menzurna product and really like it and my LSP is loving the clean surface. YMMV but I've stopped using IPA altogether.

Thank you first of all for the compliments. I just watched some of the unedited Youtube video and see about 30,000 areas that need improvement! The hardest thing to do is stand still and not look awkward while the other person is talking! Mike is really great at his job.

That is your choice. BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond is very forgiving of the surface it is applied to. You don't NEED to use IPA. If you want to ensure maximum bonding with BLACKFIRE Wet Diamond you would want to use Gloss Enhancing Polish first as this will ensure the paint is clean and prepped for Wet Diamond.
Todd, this might have been covered in a previous thread (if so pls post a link) but I thought I heard in the webcast that you are director of product development for Blackfire. If so, first congrats, and second, wasn't Blackfire fairly recently an independent company? When did PBMG purchase BF?

Finally watched (most of) the Camaro video. My one question is: Is there a limit on the number of Gold Plush Towels that you and Mike wiped your faces with. I'll take a pallet of them at 2 for $5. (No need to rub your faces raw. I'll believe you if you just tell me you did.)

When I worked as a full time detailer I had used a ton of different waxes/sealants, always looking for a great shine and ease-of-use. The reality is after spending 12-30 hours polishing paint (sometimes more) the last thing I wanted to do was to use a product that will finicky, difficult to apply, or a bear to remove.
That's how I discovered BLACKFIRE.
Jack Kruer (the former owner of ProperAutoCare, which was the company that owned BLACKFIRE) and I had big plans for improving the line and continuing to move it forward. When PAC was forced to closed shop, PBMG purchased BLACKFIRE and graciously asked me to stay with the line and see the mission that had started many years previous through to completion.
BLACKFIRE went through a major overhaul at the begging of this year although we are always open to ideas and suggestions! In fact it was because of our customers that we reintroduced the BLACKFIRE Carnauba Spray (aerosol).
