Gray Paint, what to use

Greetings all... :)

I found this site a few days ago and have been searching and reading ever since. I'm a paint and detail fanatic(my friends think I'm crazy) but just on my own cars and bikes. I thought i had used a lot of different stuff until I came here and see that there are many other waxes and sealents out there to try! :bounce

My question is: I have a 2003 Ram and a 2003 Accord. Both are gray. This spring I hit both of them with a clay bar and multiple coats of Zaino. I was very impressed, but I know it could be even better. I've been reading this forum and noticed that a lot of people "top" sealant with a carnuba wax. Now is it as simple as hitting it with the Meguires Gold class, or should I go with P21S, or some other...? I am looking for that deep wet shine, and maximum durability. It's going to be getting cold here really soon and I won't be able to wax all the time, maybe every 8-10 weeks, so I don't want to hit it every month.

I know there are lots of opinions, I am just looking for something that wil make my gray paint stand out.

Also, is there a translation page for all the acronyms you guys use!? LOL It took me two days to figure out what the heck PC was. I thought youy were rubbing a laptop on the paint! :p

(oh wait, I found it! LOL)

Also, is there a good/better/universal place to buy products online through this site? I have www.autogeek.net bookmarked so far. Is there a place to get some things in bulk, or deeply discounted?

Anyhow, I'm glad I stumbled accross this site. I have many hours of reading to do!

Welcome to the forum. I have a silver grey BMW. I used 1 coat of Z-5, 4 coats of Z-2 and one coat of Zymol's Destiny. I looks great. I have tried S100 and was very impressed. It is used by quite a few people on this forum so I gave it a try. It is good, but after I used Zymol I am now hooked. S100 is a less expensive version of P21S. If you want to make some purchases from this site try clicking on the the top of the home page that says shop.

Good luck.

If you're looking for a carnauba to top your Zaino with, I would put in a vote for S100...but if you're looking for better durability, I might go with Collinite...8-10 weeks in the winter is stretching it for many of the best carnauba waxes. The Zaino will keep protecting long after the wax dies, but you might want to think about waxing every 6 weeks or so.

Go with S100 instead of Gold Class. S100 is a pure wax but Gold Class does have some cleaning properties to it and may remove your Zaino.
