Grand Prix du Canada

Not me, but I will be going to the Toronto Champ Car race in July. I got a photo pass - gets me on-track, in the pits, and to 95% of the places that credentialed media can get to (only victory podium, turn one, and pits during actual Champ Car race on Sunday are off limits). I will be shooting lots of pictures with my Nikon DSLR.

Unfortunately, I will only be able to rely on my DVR for a replay of the race as I am stuck at work thru this weekend. Work has also cancelled our annual Indy trip this year so no live USGP for me, either.:(

So you were AT the Long Beach Grand Prix? I'm so jealous. I'll be in Toronto as well. No photo pass for me as I'm bringing more fresh meat this year. I love bringing first timers and watching the looks on their faces when they see these things for the first time.

Yup. I had a photo pass there too but it doesn't get you into as many places as the one for Toronto. I took that picture while standing on a photo tower at the end of the front straight. Unfortunately, there was a whole row of people in front of me that had gotten there earlier, and the platform was flat (not lower in front) so I didn't get many good pictures at the beginning of the race.

I just registered at champcarfanatics.com; hopefully I can start uploading pictures now.

Oh yeah, I work in downtown San Jose and the building I work in is on the front straight. Too bad the course sucks so bad though. I might watch on Friday and Saturday from our parking structure, but I probably won't buy a ticket and will just watch the race on TV on Sunday.
 
^ I went to the LBGP in 2000 when Paul Tracy came from dead last and won. What a race. Sorry to hear about the limited access this time around. I had the Super Photo Pass when I went, and didn't even get kicked out of the pits during the race. Sweet. The stands were tiered also. Looks like you got some pretty good shots anyway though. Enjoy the Canadian GP and San Jose, oh, and Toronto too.
