I'm so excited, our 1999 Corvette will be part of the competition at this year's Grand National Roadster Show!

Now in its 57th year, The Grand National Roadster Show is the oldest r unning indoor hot rod show. This year's show will be held on January 20-22, 2006 at the LA County Fairplex in Pomona, California.

The finest roasters in the country will be contending for the coveted America's Most Beautiful Roadster award, their name on the 9-foot trophy and the cash prize of $5,000. Also the America's Most Beautiful Motorcycle competition returns for its second year of the finest bikes fighting for their place in history and on a similar 8-foot trophy and $3,000 in cash. The Stuf Vette will be competing in the Custom Sports Car Category.

Other things going on at the show include:

Chip Foose and his latest creations from TLC's hit television show Overhaulin. And speaking of Chip Foose, Chip will be on hand Sunday signing autographs at the show.

Special guest The Big Schwag, the voice of Discovery Channel's Monster Garage will also be at the show all weekend signing autographs and telling stories about this wildly popular show.

Candy Clark and Bo Hopkins from the classic movie, American Graffiti will be there meeting and greeting their fans on Friday and Saturday. And there'll be musical performances on 2 stages, featuring Ronnie and the Classics on Friday and Sunday and the Surfin' Safaris on Saturday.

Should be a lot of fun and a great show. I'll be hanging 'round the Vette each day so if any Autopians should get out to the show, make sure to stop by and say "hi".

Nice ride! You should post that up at corvetteforums.com It is a smaller newer site and they could use some custom rides over there. LOL

Congrats and good luck! I sure wish I copuld see that sow so take lots of pics for those of us who can't make it.

One question though... from what I can see your beautiful Vette is a Coupe, not a Roadster. Does that matter?

Nope it's not a roadster.

Originally the show was all roadster. But now they have all sorts of categories like Sports Cars, Motorcylces even pedal cars!. Will be competing in the Sports Car category.

Yes, the paint is amazing.

Mike Face Custom Paint in San Bernardino did a great job as well as Lil' Louie who laid out and blended the flames.

The paint is all House of Kolor from the primer to the clear. And we've counted 11 different colors.

Base and ghost flames:

1. Pavo Purple (metallic)

2. Silver Metallic

3. Purple Kandy

Traditional Flames:

4. Pearl White undercoat

5. Sunset yellow (pearl)

6. Sunrise yellow (pearl)

7. Tangelo (pearl)

8. Orange (pearl)

Pin Stripes

9. Purple - ghost

10. Red - traditional

And finally, #11. about 10 gallons of clear to bury all the flame and stripe work.

Definitely not a one day paint job.

Nice Vette!

Looks like the picture was shot at one of the Uptown Whittier Summer Car Shows.

You've got a good eye for car shows, that's exactly right! 2005 to be exact. We won best flames at the show.

I grew up there. My parents own the Uptown Gym and my dad always has one of his car's in the show. By next summer he will hav his all steel 32 done.

Wow! I grew up there too. La Serna High class of 84. And I instructed at Whittier High (Dance w/ the Marching Band) from '88 to 2000. What a small world.

We took 1st place in our class at the Grand National Roadster Show!

And wow, what a show it was. Every car there was great. I was just honored to be there. I'll post some pictures of the show latter.

Thanks to those of you who stopped by and chatted. We had a great time.

This car rightly won the America's Most Beautiful Roadster Title. It was amazing!

I just watched an hour long show on this car (Impressions by Chip Foose) on the series "Rides". It truely is an amazing car. It won the "Riddler" award at the Detroit Auto-Rama.
