While I was in down in Murfreesboro TN, I had a customer contact me about reviving a numbers matching 1970 Chevy Nova SS. This car was very important to the customer as it belonged to his father who had passed away. So I knew that I wanted to give this car the care and treatment that would make his father proud.

This car had been setting in storage for quite some time, and definitely needed some TLC. here is what I was working with.

Using Meguiars Super Degreaser, I sprayed the white walls and gave them a heavy agitation to remove the yellowing.

Next I pre-rinsed the car to dislodge any of the heavy and loose debris.

The customer had requested that I remove the chrome trim (non factory) that was hanging off around the windows

It was held on by 3m tape so it wasn't to hard to get off.

The passenger side was the same way

The car was covered in a yellow over spray all over. so I had to bring out the Red Medium clay magic clay.

This paint was EXTREMELY soft, so for the cutting process I used a LC tang pad and D300, and to polish it out was a LC Crimson pad and OPT finishing polish II.

To seal the paint I used Black Fire Wet Diamond on a LC Red Finishing pad

While that was curing, I polished out some of the pitting on the chrome bumpers and mirrors.

These are actually little rust pits in the surface of the chrome, I used some #0000 steel wool and Bushes aluminum polish as lube.

That looks incredible. I bet the customer was very happy - it probably looks better than when the owner's father brought the car home.
