Oh boy am I tired:o , but it was well worth it!:bounce Today the UPS guy delivered my PC 7424, CMA pad kit w/ an extra yellow pad, platinum paint cleaner, platinum sealant glaze, and MF towels. I started working at 3:30 washing the car, then claying the car, then 3M-SMR, then dawned the car, then I applied Platinum's paint cleaner, and tommorrow I'm going to apply Platinum's sealant glaze after a QD. I started at 3:30 and ended at 1:30 (eh, cleanups a b*tch:p) with about 1 1/2 hours being breaks. Ok, I'm hitting the bed.....oh ya my car looks a lot better and if you don't have a PC, GET ONE!!!

A PC has been a question mark for me for some time. I really don't know how much I would make use of it. Your operation is a good case in point. Not trying to start an argument, just trying to justify the $120 - $150.

1. Washed car PC value? 1-10 0

2. Clayed the car 0

3. 3M-SMR 10? (will SMR even work properly by hand?)

4. Dawn wash 0

5. QD 0

6. Apply & remove Platinum paint cleaner 6

7. QD again 0

8. Apply & remove Platinum paint protectant 3

9. Stand back and go WOW! 0

Without the SMR, which I don't use, the value received doesn't seem to justify the cost. Since most of you people swear by these things, I obviously must be missing something.

With or without the use of products like 3M-SMR or Meguiar's No. 9, the PC is still worth the price. I've been detailing cars for well over two and a half decades (I'm 42) and I've never been able to achieve the results I obtained with my PC. It's faster, even on just a wax job, and the amount of wax I use is so much lower, that a bottle of No. 20 is lasting me esily six to eight cars, verses the the four to five I got out of a bottle when doing it by hand.

Plus the fact is that I'm not nearly as tired using the PC as doing the same job by hand. That alone justifies the price.

Look at it another way

3M-SMR Swirls by hand = 600 PC = 100 (will SMR even work properly by hand?)

Apply & remove Platinum paint cleaner Swirls by hand =500 PC= 80

Apply & remove Platinum paint protectant Swirls by hand= 450 PC = 70

Stand back and go WOW!

by hand (... if I look at it under this light not-so WOW!) :xyxthumbs

PC (If I look at it under big fluorecents i can see a swirl or 2... but WOW!) :bow

The PC is a great tool for prep work... a good prep, results in a great surface , a great surfece shines!... the protectors just enhance and protect that shine.

my $0.02:bounce
