Got a new orbital

Gave the car a good detail after it came back from the agent with swirls and waterspots all over. Applied the products with an orbital and hand buffed it off with cotton towels. Going to apply a second layer of wax if weather is good tomorrow.

Heres what I did

1) Wash car

2) Meguiars deep crystal paint cleaner

3) Meguiars #80 professional speed glaze

4) Meguiars deep crystal polish

5) Soft99 EXTRA hard paste wax (100% pure wax)

Fantastic finish! :xyxthumbs

Couple of queries:

Would #80 negated the need for the DC#1?

Did the DC#2 stage make a noticable difference?

I ask because I'm about to use #80 this weekend. I'm going to top with NXT but I already have the DC system so it could be useful to use as you did.

Cheers,

Phil

Hi Phil,

I used DC#1 first as I wanted to start with a clean surface, it also helped to remove some of the water spots.

I really like #80, its abrasive at first and then slowly breaks down into a polish, managed to remove most of the swirls and water spots and it adds a nice gloss to the finish. I can't really see a difference after using DC#2.

If your paint is in not too bad shape, I'm sure the #80+NXT combo will do.

MAN!! that looks awesome!! I just bought one of those black and decker buffers last night! I love the feel of that thing and its soo silent! Cant wait to try it on my detail job tomorrow.
