I detailed the engine on a 97 acura SLX today and after rinsing it, i tried to start it and i got nothing. I used an air compressor to dry everything in the engine bay as best i could and still nothing. I was afraid that i damaged something important, but apparently the battery was old and by leaving the doors open for a while(cleaned the interior) I left the battery with no power at all. I used a battery pack on the battery and the car started on the first crank. I spent an hour trying to "fix" the problem and it was just a dead battery. The moral of the story is to check the simplest likely culprit first.
