Got a good scare today

I detailed the engine on a 97 acura SLX today and after rinsing it, i tried to start it and i got nothing. I used an air compressor to dry everything in the engine bay as best i could and still nothing. I was afraid that i damaged something important, but apparently the battery was old and by leaving the doors open for a while(cleaned the interior) I left the battery with no power at all. I used a battery pack on the battery and the car started on the first crank. I spent an hour trying to "fix" the problem and it was just a dead battery. The moral of the story is to check the simplest likely culprit first.

lol i had a similar thing happen to me this winter, i didnt even detail the engine though so i was really thrown for a loop, turned out the copy of this womans key (jeep liberty) didnt have the chip in it, oddly enough it turned the ignition but did not turn the engine over. i was scared and didnt even touch the engine. glad you made it out unscaved.
