Goodbye SC430, Hello Carrera S !

Deanski

STUTTGART'S FINEST
Say goodbye to the un-official Poorboys World SC430 that some of you know.

Say hello to a new '06 997 Porsche Carrera S in black with full aero kit. More items: PCCB, adaptive sport seats, sport exhaust, short shifter, full leather (black) seatbelts in yellow (matches the PCCB's), Bose system, Nav, and more.

I have an aquisition for February production and delivery in April.

I can't wait for this sick toy!

Regards,

Deanski

Congrats on your FANTASTIC new ride!!!:bigups :)

That's one of my very favorite new cars, and with those options! Whew! Those brakes are monsters!

Getting a brand new Porsche is to a guy what a big diamond is to a woman!:D

Please post pics as soon as you get it detailed!!

It just hurts me to know that you will be slumming around in a lowly SC until your Porsche comes in.

I get dibs on the first ride in your new Porsche!

The SC430 is in the same place as always, the garage unless nice weather comes around. And since snow is here, it stays there! Next is trying to get the damn thing back to the dealer that I got it from in clean condition. The Porsche dealer was floored on how clean and bright it is. They opened the hood and could not believe how clean everything is.

As for the 997 C2S, the PCCB's (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes) calipers are yellow as opposed to red and save about 40lbs. Full leather, sport crono package, sport exhaust, short shifter, full aero kit (let's hope I clear speed bumps). At first I wanted it in GT Silver like the Carrera GT but that adds $3,000+ and it's the same clear-coat. Nothing exotic or better like a Cerami-Clear or other, just a tad darker than Artic silver. Not woth the $3,000. I put money in performance items. The power kit which boosts HP another 30HP or so, cost was $16,000. That I had to pass, I'm sure a new ECU will add some HP.

I really didn't want to go back to black as I remember very well how much of a PITA it is from my past black Lexus. But Porsche black is sooooo nice.

Wouldn't ya know, I ran out of Menzerna PO85RD and now I cannot get it. Figures! I wanted to drop it off to the dealer for his crew who I trust as I've seen the work and it's up there in Autopia standards!

As soon as it arrives at the dealer I wanted it cleaned and polished to prep for Armorglove coverage.

I was reading on Winding Road that this car comes second to the Ferarri F430, which is what I was trying to get, but it's just way too much money! Damn, so close, yet so far in getting one.

Once the Carrera S arrives, I'll start getting pics up.

Thanks guys and I'm just excited as hell!

Armorglove is the clear paint protection film I already have on the SC430 and will have it installed on the Carrera. Worth every penny! Also, they can wrap the hood so it's not as visible. You can view it at their website www.armorglove.com

Black is a PITA, but it looks soooo nice! With the PCCB's and yellow seatbelts and Aero package, it looks very aggressive.

Dealer is having it trailered to the house as we have speed bumps and want to make sure I'll clear them or it's off to fight with the association to have them modified.

I may follow it from port-of-entry to dealer and take some pics.

Of course it snows now... I'm trying to setup a date to bring the SC430 back to the dealer without getting it nasty, as it's in perfect shape. DOn't even have rust on any rotors or calipers! Porsche dealer viewed it and was stunned that it was an '03.

Sure, figures I ran out of Menzerna PO85RD right before I get this and now it's unavalible! I guess payback for me not getting my case in sooner. Crap! Wonder what they are going to replace it with? Got to be better!

Man, I was going for the power kit, but from 355HP to 381HP for 16K is just crazy! I was better off spending the $$$ on other good items (PCCB's, Sport Exhaust etc). Geez, floor mats in color trim of choice is over $500! That's nuts! Too bad, black mats with yellow trim to match the seatbelts and PCCB's would have look intense!

Better get a cover for this in the garage as well. Gotta stock up on lot's of QD to maintain the black.

Pics to be sent as soon as I get the order in and have a firm delivery date!

Regards,

Deanski

Wow! What an awesome car, congrats!!! I was pricing them out recently and the 4S I'd want topped the 6 figure mark, at that point i realized I was WAAAY out of my league on this one. Cant wait to see pics. I know of someone who just got a dark blue 4S and I forget but said he got an aftermarket chip and exhaust for $3-4k that made more power than the Porsche Power Kit.

Menzerna USA decided that they will import the 106FF as the sole Ceramic Clear polish.

Thanks for the update. Darn, really liked the 85RD. Sure, 106 is same, just a wee bit more abrasives, but at times you sometimes need less abrasive to perform the task. I think I have a bottle left of the 106. Office is a mess due to remodel of our kitchen and baths. If I can climb over all the crap, I'll see if I have some left.

Interesting hearing of a ECU and exhaust mod that can increase the HP to Power Kit levels. Gotta find that info one day.

Just starting the ordering process.

As for the SC430, I hope the weather clears and roads are dry soon or I may have to flat-bed it with the cover on.

I just hope I can clear at least the one speed bump at our enterance or I'm screwed! I'll have to make some temp ramps just to get it off and on the property. Yea, that will go over well with the association. If they fix these bumps to be more gradual, and I can clear them I have no problems with that, but knowing this board, they'll fight me on this one to the end and waste time and money for the right of egress. It just may help that my wife's uncle is the new Mayor in our town and her cousin is the asst. DA! I may need all the help researching this one!

Still have a can of Souveran left. Now that's a great black to put it on! Next, wheel sealant on the new wheels, but I hear that the PCCB's do not produce as much dust as normal pads. We shall see.

Gotta love the new look, the rear is now wider and tires are big steamrollers! Wonder how many I'll go through..

Thanks guys and pics soon to come the more I know and how soon etc is still up in the air.

Deanski

Well, today I returned the SC430 back to the dealer I got it from.

I also included: Evolution 4 car cover, customer sun shield and the original "pie plates".

After they walked the car, they could not believe how nice it looked. Opened the hood and stood in shock on how clean it is. Not even a speck of rust on the rotors!

I got the final printout of my order to Porsche. Oh this is one sick car! I'm getting very excited to say the least! :woohoo:

Knowing the mayor and asst. DA probably won't help you with this one. Most HOA communities own and maintain the streets, lights, utilities, etc., so your fight is only with the HOA.

If I were a member of your neighborhood and nobody else has problems with the speed bumps, I would ask that you pay for the changes or remain silent on the issue. It's not fair or equitable that an HOA should foot the bill so someone can get their new Porsche in and out of the subdivision, especially when you had prior knowledge of the traffic calming measure when you bought the Porsche. You don't have a life/safety issue either, unless you can demonstrate that EMS can't get to you because of the speed bumps.

Not saying it's a good thing, but you might be on your own with this one. Now, if you can promise everyone in your neighborhood a few hours a month in the new car in exchange for modifications to the bumps... :D

Good luck!

Well, here's the thing... You cannot deny an owner access or egress to their unit. The is no definition as to vehicle height from ground to front-end, but a restriction on overall height IS defined.

If I have an emergency and have to access my unit, the association cannot make "barriers" or other hinderance for access. Doesn't matter what you drive.

Speed bumps, placed on a private road by home owners associations has been held to substantially diminish the rights of individual home owners to the use of the associations common properties, thereby constituting an improper or unreasonable restriction on the use of the common properties.

So we shall see.

You're right. I read a few cases on this, and found examples of homeowners winning against the HOA because of diminished property value, hindrance of right to use easement, life/safety (EMS access), and so on.

I should have read a little more on this before my last post. Apologies, and best of luck.

Food for thought:
