Good Sealant before wax

I see people using sealants before their wax process....I do notice people using a coat of AIO as sealant and then a coat of wax . what might be a better alternative as a sealant than AIO that will give better results?

Nothing. :D

Actually, AIO isn't the sealant really. SG is the sealant. And the term "better" is highly subjective. There really isn't an answer for that. There are other choices for sealants though. You've got Zaino, Meguiar's #20, Blackfire, Platinum, and others that I haven't tried. There are several good choices. Klasse does it for me though and I'll always have a couple bottles around.

I've been really happy with Car Polish's Final Polish which is a polymer that is supposed to last about 6 months. I haven't been using it long enough to verify that though. I use it primarily on the cars of customers who only get their cars waxed a few times a year.

Here are a couple of examples on a black Acura RL and a gold Cadillac DTS (which the pic does not do justice-it looks unbelievable wet in real life). Both were polished with Final Polish and topped with S100 Paste Wax.

Rednsxe,

I like Platinum Sealant and Poorboy's EX Sealant as a base for topping with wax. Both can be layered and both are pretty easy to use. If I had to choose, I would go with the EX because of its carnauba like quality.

Here are a couple of pics of 3 layers of EX topped with Souveran wax.

where would some good places to buy these sealants. Like the Poor boy's EX , platinum..... and Car polishes final polish.... I don't think i've seen them places.. Just to make sure that these sealants can be applied to something that as oil on its surface and stuff right....not like Zaino that needs a totally prepped and Clean surface to bond into.

I just got my Poorboy's EX last night so I will be reviewing it friday night I am sure. I am going to do another black Civic using P21S lotion, Poorboy's EX sealant, and P21S Carnuba Wax.

Poorbooy's EX is the most user friendly sealant I have used ( Zaino and Blackfire). Dries in 30 minutes, wipes off effortlessly and shine like a sealant but with carnuaba wetness and depth. :xyxthumbs.

Can not quote long-term durability but it has been my sealant protectant on daily driver for 6 weeks with a topping of Souveran and wash twice and QD'd once. Still beading and shining great. Now with Poorboy's QD+ it should last easily for months.:wavey

All sealants and waxes require a total prep to achieve maximum results. Just some have specific requirement ( Zaino). Poorboy's EX seems to require less stringency.

Have been using Poorboys EX and his QD+ on three autos for about a month now and the shine along with the products are outstanding and a pleasure to use. IMO nothing could be easier. If anyone finds better products please advise.

You should be able to find any of them online.

I don't know about the other products, but there are no specific instructions on surface prep for Final Polish, so I would think as long as the vehicle is clean, you can put FP on top of most polishes and glazes.

First of all... there is nothing better than 'zano'. I think your sig should say "Zaino" instead, no? Or are you really looking for something better than this 'zano' stuff?

Second of all, poorboy's and platinum are available at www.premiumautocare.com if you want to look there. usually a google search should set you straight. I can't believe you went to Google and looked for 'poorboy's products' and didn't find anything.

Meguiar's #20 Polymer Sealant might be a better alternative for you to use rather than AIO. I get good results everytime I use #20. And it is very available too, either online or at most auto supply stores.

...and #20 topped with #16 Pro Paste Wax is a very nice combination and very user friendly.

I've been trying to find a website or more info on this product, so far Google only shows Menzerna Final Polish.

Does Car Polish have a site? Thanks
