Good Product for Oxidation?

What a good polish and Wax combo for Oxidation? I am currently using S100 and it is working good so far. I was curious what I should use on a car where the paint is heavly Oxidized?

If the car has alot of oxidation you could try Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner Polish (DACP). It dose a decent job of removing oxidation and restoring shine. But you'll have to top it with the S100 as the DACP does not have any wax in it. Or for better shine you could glaze the paint after using the DACP and prior to waxing.

It's my understanding that AutoInt's ABC system is the best thing to use on heavily oxidized cars. ABC neutralizes the oxidation process and cleans off all the contaminants. I just ordered some and I'm going to try it this weekend on a friend's car that's heavily oxidized.

Check out their website at:

Eman: Are you doing this by hand? It is very difficult to be effective using most polishes by hand. Some pros can do it like Scottwax but most of us mortals use a machine. The only polish that I have had any luck with when using by hand is Scratch removers like Meguiars Scratch X. There is a lot of work to using Scratch X by hand on the entire car.

The alternative is to use a glaze. A glaze has oils and fillers that cover the problem rather than remove the problem. Glazes can be used by hand. Glazes do not add protection so they must be topped same as polishes.

If you decide to use a glaze two suggestion

#1. Imperial hand glaze topped by a paste wax s100.

#2. Meguiars #7 topped by Meguiars #26.

Now if you want to remove the oxidation then think about having a pro remove the oxidation and you could then glaze and top.

Just my 2 cents

I used 2 coats of #9 and it was still taking off layers of oxidized paint last time i did a full blown start from scratch detail. My applicator pad was RED as a fire engine (single stage paint on my beater) and I did this all by hand.

If you work hard enough, you can achieve decent results by hand, but nothing close to what could be done with a PC
