Good locally availiable car soap?

Hi,

Currently I'm almost done using my 4L jug of TW Zip wax, while I belive that this car soap does a reasonable job, i'm sure other stuff out there could be better or cheaper (or even both).

When I wash cars, I have a bad?? habit of using a lot of car soap. Wash a small wagon (subaru Impreza or totyota matrix) usually results me going through 4-5 buckets of soap and 7-8 buckets of rinse water. Given then I have 3 cars in the house, I would prefer something that comes in a larger container.

I have heard good things about meg's GC car wash, unfortunally I have been unable to find this locally in anything larger than a 32oz size (lordco). The local walmart carries the meguaries "rich sudds" brand of car wash for fairly cheap ($7-10 for 2L) is this any good?

I love Meguiar's Gold Class. I don't think you can get a better car wash off the shelf. You can order it online in larger sizes. Really good stuff. :xyxthumbs

I agree with Jngrbrdman. I love this stuff. Smells great and the suds really last. As a matter of fact, its on sale at

Target for $7.67 per gallon.

But probably not in Vancouver.

Yup that's where I got mine.... awesome stuff.

hehe... no target in vancouver, and i'm not a big fan of ordering online as the duty, tax, exchange, shipping would kill me......

Honestly there probably isn't much difference between soaps, though some smell better or feel slightly more slippery than the others. I think even Scottwax uses TW Zip once in a while.

If you go through a lot of soap then price is probably important, and TW stuff is usually cheapest. Gallons of this is are easy to find at Canadian Tire or their Finish 2000 version at some Zellers (if they're not out) and are pretty cheap. If you want GC though, I bet Lordco or Canadian Tire could order some in gallon sizes for you. I've also seen jugs of car wash powder concentrate and other stuff at Lordco made by Gunk and Kleen-Flo I think. Pay attention to how much they suggest to mix up though, since I've seen some "wash n wax" soaps telling you to mix up to 4 ounces per gallon, making them less economical.

Meguiar's web-site has a dealer locater for Canada. It might be worth checking out to see if they have anyone near you.
