Gold Class vs #00 Hi Tech Wash..

I did some searches and found that #00 is supposed to be a much better car wash than GC.

Why is GC an Autopia winner hands down?

All the polls and census show it. I am using GC right now but if #00 has more lubricity then i'll give it a shot. At $6.08 a bottle it ain't that bad a price.

I know Auroura compared the two and likes #00 much better.

Is it just an accessabilty thing where u can get GC most everywhere?

thx

The #00 is part of Meg's Professional series and I too think that it is much better than GC. BUT, I think the best is Meg's Professional #62 IMHO! I have all three, and in my opinion, I like the #62 overall. It is not cheap ( Usually $19.99/gallon US versus Gold Glass $9.99/gallon US) and it is only available in gallons.

2hot,

Why do you prefer 62? I read it has wax added to it and it is a little stronger and it's geared towards industrial use like dealerships, etc. From what I am gathering 00 is geared towards serious car enthusiasts and collectors.

Maybe Mike Phillips can ellaborate?

I am looking at the back of the gallon of #62 as well as my Meguiar's Pro Catalog (p.11) and no where does it say that wax has been has been added to the wash. It is, according to Meguiar's "The ideal product to safely maintain any vehicle after it's been waxed and detailed". (p.11, Meguiar's Professional Product Guide. 3/03)

The #62 is an ultra high foaming, lubricity formula that is Ph balanced. It does have free rinsing agents but that does not mean a wax has been added. It just means that the wash is designed to rinse fully and easily, thereby avoiding streaking. Perhaps it uses some of the #34 Final Inspection's technology. Also, it is rated as "Body Shop Safe", therefore it can not contain wax.

I used the #00 for many many years and really liked it. I believe that the #00 is more designed for the body shop as it is an ideal lubricant for wet sanding. Moreover, it just happens to be suggested for that exact use in the catalog.

However, with the stated above, the #62 foams a lot more and does not streak whereas the #00 does not foam as much and does tend to streak more.

Just IMHO!!

Sorry, I got bad info as far as the wax in #62. Maybe they thought the free rinsing agents were wax.

Thanks so much for the comparison.

It sounds like both choices beat Gold Class hands down.

I personally believe that they both do indeed, better the GC.

You should really get some and try it for yourself. I think that you will be pleased!!

Cheers!
