Going to the States

I'm heading down to the states tomorrow. What should I look for and pick up. I'll be heading to Grand Forks.

Any interesting products to look for. Cheapest places.

Look for some fatty, unhealthy American food.

:lol

I don't know what you have access to, so it'd be hard to reccomend anything :nixweiss

I go over the border 4 or 5 times a year. Here is a list of what I consider to be good deals compared to what I get in Canada.

Megs Gold Class Car wash, 1 Gallon for $9.99 at Target. Some times it's on sale for $7.99.

Clay Magic 100 grm bar and lube for $9.99 at Autozone.

Megs Yellow foam apps $1.50 for 2 at Walmart.

Duragloss Car Wash, 1 Gallon for $20.00 at Carquest (my fav car wash:) )

Collinite Insulator Wax $9.99 for 1 pint at Carquest. Have also seen this at Advance Auto.

Look for an RV dealer and pick up a Gallon of QEW.

This is all I can think of at the moment.

If you can find a Wal-Mart, the NXT wax is $13.68 & the NXT car wash is $5.28.

Stoner's Invisible Glass cleaner is about $3.25.

Wool wash mitts are about $5 and 100% cotton chenile wash mitts are around $3.25

Why are things so expensive in Canada ? Is mininium wage in Canada $20.00 per hour or something? I guess retiring to Canada is out of the question if all you have is U.S. social security pension.

Because our dollar is only worth 80 cents to your dollar.

Not all things are more expensive. I can get my 3M polishes and compounds cheaper here than in the U.S. For example, 3M Perfect It III Machine Glaze was $34.00 USD at Carquest. I get it for $34.00 CDN here in Canada. Same thing for 303 products.

Ah. Just got back. I can't believe the speed limit there :D We had to do 100 mph to keep up with some people. Not that I mind or anything ;)

Couldn't find many products, I found a bottle of NXT for 19 bucks CND, but thats it. Everything else was pretty much cheaper here.

What are you talking about? When I drive to toronto on the QEW I'm usually going about 85mph and i'm surrounded by other cars. It's quite scary.

Thats not scary...well Toronto is really scarey :down

I'm tellin the truth, people we're flying by us when we were already doin 80-85 in a 75 mph zone. I was like ***, lets go faster :)

You must have just been measuring in metric miles per hour ;)

Nope, our GPS unit said 98.2 mph at one point for about 10 minutes it hovered about that point. Then we slowed down to about 80 mph again.

Of course we were going that fast to catch up to a Audi A4, full of UBER hot chicks. We beat their turbo out. They like the supercharger, I know they do ;) :xyxthumbs

Did the Regal come with the GPS or is it an external unit?

My dad goes crazy plotting way points on ours in the car. He spends more time looking at it than he does the road.

Did you say soemthing happened to the Infiniti? Mom is actually looking at the FX45 soon. I don't like the fact that it doesn't come with heated rear seats :(

Dude, grow up:p Why do you need heated seats. The buick has 'em front and rear. Also, yes, someone broke into the Infinit and smashed it up inside. It wasn't worth fixing, since they beat in the roof.

Also, the buick didni't come with it. My dad has a unit. The infiniti's nav wasn't worth a **** in Canada, so there wasn't much point anyways.

BTW, unless you have UBER smooth roads, don't get the FX45. You'll tire of the ride VERY quickly. Just buy a nice sedan, or a RX330. The Acura MDX is a nice ride too. And if you're obviously willing to spend 80 large on a SUV, might as well step up to the Porsche.

I don't get it! The only car we've looked at with heated rear seats was a Saab 9 5 a few years ago before Mom got her last car. Nearly 60k for the Infiniti, I want some damned dheated seats in the back!

And I want that extra 30 horse power back too. If the Q and the M get 345, why can't the FX45? :nixweiss

Is it one of those "keeping the flagships the most powerful" things?

I thought Canadians spoke Fench? Uber is German :p

What's replacing the FX?

BTW, what else did you do in the States besides product shopping?

Nah. Mom doesn't like the look of the Cayenne/Toureg, she doesn't want the V-6. She doesn't want anything bigger than the FX (think smaller than Denali/Escalade) and she likes the round shape of the FX best so far.
