Going to detail with Jeffs Werkstatt AJT = have a few questions

Well, I allready completely detailed my new Volvo C70 which is silver by the way, and I want to ask you guys a few questions, because next week I will do a quick touch up on mine, and I will fully detail my girlfriends silver Eos when she's on bussinesstrip.

I did my car as supposed, washed, clayed, prime, the AJT, then gloss = looked perfect.

Now, when I was out of Gloss, I used Megiuars quick detailer a few times, but only very briefly. Next week, can I just wash my car and put on two new layers of AJT, or do I have to do it al over again starting with prime because of this????

After the AJT and Gloss i will be topping it off with Z-CS, which I just ordered to put some extra protection on top for the winter months, because only this winter my car will have to stay outside while we have our new home contructed :hairpull

I will be doing my girlfriends car from scratch, wash, clay, prime, AJT, Gloss and top of with Z-CS ( wheels also Z-CS / mine are done with Swissvas wheel wax = SUPER )

Well, would really love your comments, on the things stated on top, but really for the next matters:

1. My car, Ok to layer or not ?

2. How much time to leave between AJT+Gloss and topping of with 2 coats of Z-CS ?

I would say as long as the car shampoo and QD you used did not contain any wax products to interfere with the bonding of the AJT I would think another layer of AJT over the existing AJT would be fine.

As far as curing time, I would wait 24 hours if possible before topping AJ or AJT to allow it to fully cure. This product does seem to cure faster than some so maybe you could cheat a little but 24 hours would be safest IMO.

1. More AJT would be fine in your situation koen. Most QDs are designed to be LSP neutral and absolutely should not interfere with your ability to put on more AJT.

Werkstatt recommends waiting 30 minutes between layers of AJT.

2. Werkstatt recommends waiting 24 hours between application of AJT and any other LSP besides Werkstatt - so you would need to wait 24 hours after AJT/Glos before applying Z-CS.

Here is a response Werkstatt sent to an email from someone at Autopia about how to use AJT and how to layer AJT:

.....spray a small amount on the surface, spready it uniformly with a microfiber towel, and continue buffing until the surface is clear. Flipping to a dry side of the towel on the

final pass will help leave perfect results. There is no waiting time

necessary. It is one continuous application/buffing process. Trigger can

also be layered, with 30 minutes recommended between layers.

When switching from these Werkstatt products to something from another

manufacturer, we still recommend waiting a full 24 hours to ensure complete

curing and best results. Many products could be used immediately, but as a

general recommendation, we err to the side of caution.

Well, I'm going to start tonight...

First off with my girlfriends Eos, which will be of the road untill sunday (she's to Mallorca with her work), so I'm going at it step by step... The car is also inside our garage, so no problem to do it step by step and I can leave 24 hours curing time between AJT and Z-CS.

Tonight: powerwasher + washing the Eos by hand, once with "dreft" = the same as dawn and once more with jeffs. Hopefully I can also do a big part of the car with Jeffs Prime.

Tomorrow evening: more Prime and then start layering with AJT

friday: washing my car + layering AJT on C70 and again on Eos

Saturday Evening: washing C70 + applying Z-CS to both my C70 and my girlfriends Eos = I have to wash again because I use my car

Sunday:
hopefully happy girlfriend ( I'm always pretty proud of my own work :D )

I will take pics of the entire Eos episode, and also of my car finished with Z-CS saturday...

Pics will be uploaded on saturday...
