Going through a phase??

Got More Wax

I'm pretty much a reach for the rotary as my GoTo machine for most everything. I have a Flex DA but, it make so much noise and vibrates so much, I don't like to use it. Even my Flex rotary is loud as he11!!!

So, today, I found myself looking at my Cyclo and thinking I'm gonna break it out for a while. I know that I can use a hand applicator and cover an entire car with lsp way faster than with the machine. But, I'm just kinda wanting to bust out the Cyclo.

You mean just for applying wax, or for polishing? My Makita is very quiet as far as machines go, it's the only machine I use right now. And something about applying by hand(with foam applicator) I find enjoyable. Maybe it's just me.

The cyclo is...cumbersome to say the least. It's a little quieter than my PC and its much more difficult to get around mirrors and such. It's nice on flat panels though for dispersing product but you're definitely limited to what you can do with it.

Cumbersome? The more you use it , you will realize that it is very easy to use and to maneuver around tight areas. There are very few areas I can not get with my Cyclo. Although it does not get mentioned much here, the Cyclo is an excellent machine. It is my go to machine.

Forgive my tired posting, it is a great machine, I'm not trying to downplay it. However, it isn't as full versatile as a PC/Rotary with a spot pad. It is easy to use, just not optimal for heavier paint correction due to having only one speed.

I could just be my decades of familiarity with it, but I too really like using the Cyclo. No, it's not the best for every job, but I simply *enjoy* using it more than any of my other polishers.

It certainly is less of a shock than the 3401 to the ears and elbows. Each time I pull out my Cyclo for lsp application, I wonder why I stop using it. Far and away a better application of lsp. Just a bit more time consuming compared to pulling out a pad and a quick apllication.

It must be doing something right, same design for 50 + years?!

It's also my preferred machine for a final burnishing/jeweling, using finishing pads and a nearly-nonabrasive product.

I just got some black LC pads for it, we'll see how those work with various products.
