GM tintcoat question

For those of you familiar with GM's tintcoat paints, I understand it to be (which could be incorrect):



Clearcoat

Tintcoat

Color

Primer

Bare Metal



I was working on a '08 Malibu Red Jewel Tintcoat this week and after a pass of SIP/LC CCS white via UDM, the white pad was picking up some of the color. I'm wondering if these paints lack a traditional clear and I received some bad info or, if the traditional clear is extremely thin.

As I understand it the tintcoat replaces the clear and your pad discoloration is normal.
