glue residue on sunroof

My daughters Celica has this nasty glue streak (or something sticky) around the entire outside edge of the glass sunroof. I don't know what was put on there that left the residue but it is near impossible for me to remove with simple green. Will goo-gone or some other product help with this? Thanks!
 
I guess searching would have been the appropriate first choice for me...I found that others have used goo-gone and some other removers from 3M and something sold at wal-mart. Thanks anyway! Mod, you can delete this thread.
 
Ah! Duct tape. Now that I look at it, it is the same width as strips of tape. Thanks, bigjim. I'll get a can tomorrow.
