Glaze on top of an All In One product

Hello Guys

I am just looking for some pointers or clarifacation on using a glaze eg. Megs #7 or RMG over say SRP or AIO.

I have notice on quite a few forums people applying and cleaner wax + glaze + LSP.

I always belived these cleaner waxes leave a protective layer and the glaze would just sit on top of this and reduce the durability of the LSP.

Is this true?? How much durability is compromised??

Many thanks if anyone can clear that up.

For me...using a wax as a LSP..I would polish...use the glaze..like meg's 7 or 5..and apply the wax over that....

Now for a sealant..same thing..polish..apply a Glaze like Danase Speed Glaze..it is a acrylic glaze which will work under all synthetic sealants....and really adds some zumph..

now you will not be able to use a meg's glaze under a sealant do to the oils in the product..it will hinder the bonding....

Hope this helps...

I seldom ever used a glaze, but found it to be a valuable step, especially to gain some wetness, or as a very-light filler. I have so many coats of protection built up for the winter, I just use a glaze like FK's #216 to smooth out / fill very-light surface scratches. Then lay a coat of my LSP. I was impressed by the wetness & slickness created by #216 Poly Wipe®FX-Wet & Slick - Glaze • Sealant

Meg. 5, 7, 81 over AIO would not hurt but wpou;d last just a few days. They are pure polishes. They are best used with Carn. Waxes.....RMG does have some petrol. dist. in it and would comprimize a sealant or nuba if applied on top. RMG under AIO would be OK. Just remember there is a difference in polish and glaze.

FK 216 is a glaze it is poly so it can be used under a AIO sealant. POLY sealants and waxes are different also.... Poly does not like pure polishes under them.....

Hi Guys

Thanks for your replies.

I always polish -->> glaze -->> nuba wax.

You see some people trying other things that go against your grain of thoughts and you have to enquire!!

Thanks

Geoff
