Does anyone know where i can get a glass polishing gel besides having to buy on line. My windshield looks like if it was hit buy little acid droplets or something. I have tried to use all kind of products but they dont work. Someone told me to use my PC at high speed with a good glass gell? What exactly he meant i cant figure out. Any suggestions?

~One man’s opinion / observations~

Best glass cleaning gel for ‘water spots’ use a water/distilled white vinegar solution, 5:1 (adjust ratio as required)

To answer the question of where to buy a glass cleaning polish (non Internet) your location might give someone a glue as to a recommendation

~Hope this helps~

I wish it was water spots. I dont know exactly what it is, but it is very difficult to take off. If i use my finger nails with a little polishing product, i can see that it takes some of it off. I am just affraid to use too harsh of a product and make things worse by scrathing the heck out of the window.

edit: you can take it off w your fingernails? Try some 50/50 alcohol/water mix to see if it's easier to remove. I initially thought you had pitting. :nixweiss

The ony problem is that i have to scrub it for a while to loosten it up. It is realy on good. I think i may need someting with a little abbrassive in it, but like i said, i dont want to scratch the window.

jab...try ProperAutoCare.com.

They have a glass polishing kit (around $40) which I just received but have not had time to use. It's designed to be used with a PC. Pads are 4" and connect with the usual velcro backing plate. They include Autoglym Glass Polish. Looks like a good thing to have in one's arsenal! They say it will do wonders for auto glass.

Yeah I definately want to try that kit.

However, I have had excellent luck with chrome polish on the glass and a terry applicator. It cleans spots and light etching right up. Give it a try. If need be, use #0000 Steel Wool to remove tougher blemishes.

Autoglym Glass Polish :bigups

It works great by hand too, just remember to use small amounts and work it until gone. Then wipe over with a clean lint free MF.

Where can i find this stuff? Do i have to buy it through the internet? Do auto parts places have it?

Mother's Chrome Polish works great on glass/windows and it should be available at your local auto supply stores. Just avoid applying too much product as it might be harder to buff off. I also use it on bathroom shower glass, works great getting water spots ans soap scum off.

jab, I don't know where you are in the world but I'm guessing somewhere in US. The full kit for the PC is from properautocare.com or if you just want the polish you can buy from the autopia shop here http://www.autopia-carcare.com/ag-4325.html

If your windscreen is extremely bad, you can use the polish with the #0000 steel wool, there was a thread previously about it.
