I recently acquired a new Porter Cable and was eager to try it. I have a 2000 Chrysler 300M with a windshield that had never been polished, so I figured that polishing the windshield would be a great way to start using my PC.
I bought a 5.5" Lake Country Glass Polishing Pad and some DP High Performance Glass Restorer from Autogeek. I polished about 1/8 of the windshield at a time with the PC set on 3. When the polish appeared to be broken down, I wiped it off with a clean cotton cloth. After polishing the entire windshield I gave it a final wipe with a clean microfiber, and then cleaned it with Griot's glass cleaner and a microfiber.
Then I sealed the glass with Opti-Seal, using one of the free yellow foam applicators that Autogeek gave me with my order. A little sure goes a long way! When I was done there was a little bit of streaking, which cleaned up with another microfiber.
Later in the day I washed the car. The water beaded quite well on the windshield. I hope the Opti-Seal lasts a long time.
