Glass cleaning/polishing

Hi... I've got some stubborn contaminants on my front windshield. I tried claying and most of it came off. Can I use a mild paint polish on the windshield? Should I apply by hand or low speed with a PC? I saw something about a glass polish available online but I wanted to tackle this today.

I missed the part where you said you wanted to do it today. Try the paint polish in a small area away from the line of site and if it works go for it.
