Glare + OCW on Black 2002 Audi A4

Since AlexRuiz started all the Glare evaluation stuff, I decided to check out their sealant (Glare Polish). I'm always looking for durability first and was also interested to see the Glare look for myself. The A4 is a daily driver that lives its life in a chemical plant where we have our own power generating facilities and railroad yards. Talk about industrial fallout! :o

I would describe the Glare look as more carnauba than sealant. It is fairly warm and not sterile at all. The reflections are not super sharp, but are less distorted to me than others had mentioned. Applying the OCW over it didn't really seem to change the underlying look at all.

Process (one week ago) and there was no time to polish, although it could definitely use it.

1. AIO by hand

2. Glare Polish by CMA green mf applicator

3. Washed yesterday and topped with OCW

Of course, it rained this afternoon on the way home, but I decided to snap some pix in the garage anyway.

Glare is a decent product, it lasts long and is easy to use. I offered it is an option in my business for years until recently. The down side for me is the chalky powder residue.

Not at all, I'll send you some if you want Bill, PM me your address if you want a sample. I'm working on my last bottle, I just don't use anything except Pro since it came out. One real good thing Glare is good for is windows during winter if your careful to not get it on the rubber seal.

Burlyq--You're use of the product was one of the reasons I decided to test the Glare. I noticed a little chalky powder in my mf applicator when I was finished applying the sealant, but it wasn't as bad as I had expected. I applied it very sparingly and made sure to avoid any plastic/rubber. Overall I am pleased so far. Will have to wait to see the durability for myself.

Very nice :2thumbs: Would you say it is similar to something like Wolfgang ?

Bill--Can't really compare the "look" directly to Wolfy, because I've never tried it.

My beef, for lack of a better word, with GLARE is their wild claims. I realize this is just marketing but in reality people they are not saying anything new. They calim that GLARE is special because it bonds to the paint on the molecular level, yet ALL sealants bond on the molecular level.

Sorry for the hi-jack....I return you to your previously viewed post :)

Nice A4 by that way....I love Audi cars, hell of a car!!

I definitely agree on all points. It isn't cheap either, but I willingly pay $70 for Souveran.

Anthony--Thanks for the kind words. Your work and Scott's continue to inspire this lowly hobbyist.

Scottwax--I agree the Glare isn't cheap, but I bought the relabled Honda version of the Glare Polish (12 oz.) for 19.99 vs. 34.95 on the official Glare website.

Eventhough the Glare marketing claims are ridiculous, I guess I decided to test one for the team as you might say. I can't seem to help myself as I like to experiment way too much. Now I am tempted to try some of their Spider (glaze) under the polish. :grinno:
